自从3月底以来的米国（海外）媒体China bashing和ZD的群魔乱舞
我一直在想到底在米国（海外）媒体里面有没有一些对中国有一定了解且能保持中立客观的人？
中国在这样的人眼里是什么样的呢？
下面就不定时的推荐一些这样的人/文章

Pomfret’s China: A Foreign Devil’s Take on the Middle Kingdom
其实在以前就推荐过
作者John Pomfret开始在Washington Post网站写这个blog就是因为4月初的海外火炬接力以及随之发生的一些列事件
首先介绍一下作者吧
Pomfret在88年的时候被AP（美联社）派到北京（主要因为他可以讲中文）
89年的“8×8″他当时就在学生们的中间做报道
随后被Z-F赶出天朝因为…（很明显的原因-_-）
之后他一直在海外为美国几个大媒体当记者
后来他又回到中国（也出了本书讲他在中国的经历：Chinese Lesson）
总体来讲Pomfret的经历让我认为他对中国有足够的了解
下一个问题就是他能不能够客观的（或者说厚不厚道）讲他知道的关于中国的故事？
开始我不是很肯定
主要因为他在blog文章里面的一些观点我不同意（当然也许是”良言逆耳”）
后来无意中发现了两个John Pomfret的采访
其中有一段让我有些吃惊
采访者问他：”关于89中国，现在回想起来，你当时有没有什么失实的报道，或者说现在对一些事情的看法和当时不同了”
Pomfret的回答是：“我当时的确有些错误的报道…总的来说，我对那场运动的看法不是公正客观的…我当时坚信那是个民–主$运%动…他们（学生组织）并没有像他们说的那样在做决定的时候投票…因为我相信他们所作的从大体上讲是对的…我愿意忽略他们的一些不足之处…是的，我当时处理事情的时候不是完全客观公正的…我当时（被现场的氛围）同化了…”
自从看了这段采访
我就变成了一个Pomfret fan
在网上搜了别的关于他的采访
从图书馆找到他的书
只要blog有更新就会第一时间细看（有时候发现他可以把我想说却不知道如何表达的观点说的很有条理）
然后就是现在不停的向别人强烈推荐他的文章和他这个人

这篇文章写了一半就在draft里待了2个礼拜
今天看到Pomfret关于地震的文章
发现很多pro china的中国同志在那里骂街
感觉好像很多同志没有理解Pomfret文章里的意思就晚起袖子开骂

再另
一直没有发关于地震的贴
老实讲不知道该怎么发
该说的大家都知道
这里就说现在没有可以准确预测地震的model
有100个人每人做10个地震预测很有可能会有人猜对（就好像说米国某个小镇近100年来总统选举的结果和最后全国的结果相同，稍微懂点概率的都知道这没什么稀奇的）
最后就是在恶劣的天气里往山区跳伞就是自杀
当兵的也是人
也是别人的孩子
每次有大灾难都是子弟兵力挽狂澜
有时候我们想当然的认为这就是他们职责-_-
向灾区空投先头部队致敬

火炬传递不一定非要停
但是应该每次开始前有默哀

一直有在关注PhD Comics
最近又扫了扫以前的存档
很有意思（或者说有点sad啊…）

本来以为今年的奥斯卡有Chris Rock主持会有趣得很
结果却有点让人失望
Chris很明显有点束手束脚
而且搞笑包袱种类单一
似乎只有“种族问题”的笑话才好笑（不过Chris做stand-up的时候就主要用“种族问题”作包袱）
就连Oprah也说”wanna see Chris more like Chris”
整个颁奖典礼中出彩的地方不多（采访普通观众的片断不错，也是利用“黑白不同”来搞笑）
出轨的地方就更少了（好像就涮了Bush一把）
总而言之
从搞笑的深度和广度来讲
程度明显不如去年的Billy Crystal

大家看到Julia Roberts了吧
生完孩子身材果然就不一样（就像当初Gwyneth Paltrow一样，谁能想到…）
hehe…
说到身材
Renée Zellweger好瘦呀
不过那么几十磅的增几十磅的减
果然很伤身体
她看起来老多了

说起Gwyneth Paltrow
Chris Rock最好的包袱之一就是用在她身上
“first actress to breast feed an apple”
想了一下才记起她新生的儿子叫Apple

有史以来第一次最佳男主/配角都是黑人
感觉很合理（Morgan Freeman的最佳男配角多少有点安慰的意思，但也该轮到他了）

最后
不喜欢组织者把一些不重要的奖安排在观众中间
感觉不是很正式
VMA那么搞可以
Oscar就有点不合适了

虽然我个人对这个东西就算在国内的时候也没什么兴趣
但我知道很多同学们还是很想看看的
等了几天
为的是等好一些的版本

到目前为止大家都应该知道Apex是国内长虹在米国的品牌了吧（就算不知道现在我也告诉你了）

这个品牌继承了国内“物美价廉，超强纠错，什么都读”的DVD机的传统

不但异常便宜

而且非常容易改机

国内拿来的什么碟都通吃（包括DVDR/RW）

甚至现在有了可以读DIVX/XVID的型号

是在米国的中国人民把mm结婚安家/party歌舞升平的必备良品

不曾想今天在Engadget看到这么篇文章

说是Apex已经亏损5亿米刀

总裁也在中国被捕了

sigh…

看来当零件供应商上门收款的时候才知道无利润的倾销是要破产的

不过好歹消费者是占便宜的（纯中国人心理，米国人肯定还想要售后，中国人知道我们的东西虽然便宜，公司虽然是个骗局，但质量还是没问题）

只是不知道以后到哪里去找这么质优价廉的东西（国内大电器厂赶紧再弄个品牌打入米国吧）

6. Who is the owner of SuprNova.org?

Sloncek is the owner. I advise you leave off mailing/PMing him for now, he will be flooded with them and this is likely to be a very emotional time for him. He has feelings too. Give him some space.

7. Is BitTorrent closing?

No. To clarify, BitTorrent is a file protocol, not a network in itself. As long as .torrent files are made and distributed, BitTorrent will continue to run as the only central servers needed are Trackers, and they never handle the files themselves.

8. Does the current situation mean I can break the channel rules in #SuprNova.org and use “!list” and “@find”?

11. Why has SuprNova.org closed?

For two years, SuprNova.org maintained the largest BitTorrent community on the Internet. Literally millions of individuals each day would traverse this BitTorrent site looking for the latest releases. Although SuprNova was not a tracker, it did provide thousands of Torrent links to a multitude of movies, games, images and music. Today, the millions who called SuprNova home are now facing the grim reality that SuprNova.org no longer exists.

SuprNova.org’s fall comes shortly after the demise of other key BitTorrent and eDonkey2000 link sites. Last week, the MPAA and other world wide copyright organizations began to clamp down on ShareConnector, Youceff Torrents and many others. While SuprNova.org was not forced off line, the administration was definitely feeling the pressure.

Slyck spoke with Sloncek, administrator of SuprNova.org about its closure.

“SuprNova.org was more like a hobby that took most of my free time away. And now with current situation, there抯 too much pressure and I don抰 have the time for it.”

Considering that administrators of smaller, although no less significant, communities such as ShareConnector were actually arrested, Sloncek decided to take SuprNova.org off line voluntarily. This will allow him and his fellow administrative staff to concentrate on other projects without worry of prosecution.

While the ability to trade information was a key reason for the success of SuprNova.org, the community will remain intact. SuprNova.org’s forums and IRC network will remain online. In addition to keeping the community functioning, it will also allow the SuprNova.org administration to relay any addition news and information. The following statement is all that remains on SuprNova.org:

Greetings everybody,

As you have probably noticed, we have often had downtimes. This was because it was so hard to keep this site up! But now we are sorry to inform you all, that SuprNova is closing down for good in the way that we all know it. We do not know if SuprNova is going to return, but it is certainly not going to be hosting any more torrent links.

We are very sorry for this, but there was no other way, we have tried everything.

12. What’s happening with eXeem?

We don’t know this either. An insider has said that there will be no statement about eXeem today.

In mIRC, it’s Tools, Options, IRC, Events, tick Hide Quits, Parts, Joins.

The official word is that there are no plans to release the source code at this time.
